Kalen Sakima
Kalen Sakima's random and creative views help create and mold this event to combine the different elements of the dance world into a week-long dance and education intensive. Sakima has been behind the scenes with dance studios to create stage production work for shows and events, in addition to teaching and choreographing thrughout the world for the past 6 years. Kalen was a part of the Advertising Program while attending the Art Institute of California. One of his memorable achievements included being one of the top 6 in the state of Hawaii for Business Marketing in DECA, (Distributive Education Clubs of America). Sakima has been working professionally in the industry for the past 7 years, this includes on and off stage. Jennifer Kumiyama
Jennifer Kumiyama started studying voice at UCR with Patty Gee. She then moved her studies to Long Beach City College and CSULB. She is Ms. Wheelchair California 2010; making her the official spokeswoman for people with disabilities in the state of California. August 2010, Jennifer earned 1st Runner Up to Ms. Wheelchair America 2011 and the Lifetime Achievement Award in Grand Rapids, MI. She has spoken to many different groups such as Boeing, The Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita Support Group, Kiwanis International and schools, to empower people with/without disabilities, and to break stigmas of the disability community. She is Chief Editor of Disabled Guides for Not Another Guide (www.notanotherguide.com) and Head Stage Manager for the 2009 Orange County Special Olympic Fall Games Opening Ceremony. She has volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, the Life Rolls On Organization and the Long Beach Special Olympics. Some of Jennifer's credits include: Opening cast of Disney's Aladdin; A Musical Spectacular at Disney California Adventure Theme Park, Lady in Yellow, Lady in Blue in For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf at Stella Adler Theater, Warner Brothers PopStars 2, singer at LRO's Night By the Ocean at the Kodak Theater, National Anthem at Angel Stadium and Staples Center for the LA Kings. Oscar Gonzalez
Oscar has been extremely active in the education and mentorship of young children and teens. He has been teaching dance and dance education at Anaheim High for 6 years and teaching dance at studios throughout Southern California for the past 8 years. Gonzalez has also been co-director for the Anaheim Ballet performing group for 2 years. The development of dance, dance education and professionalism to his students are one of many key things his students learn. His main focus to engage and lift a student is to dwell on all positive aspects, but making sure they embrace the negative to better themselves and their dancing. Lori Coulis
Lori has received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance and Choreography from California Institute of Arts & London Contemporary for Dance. Performance credits include: Disney's The Haunted Mansion, Disney's Aladdin A Musical Spectacular, ABC Walt Disney Christmas Special, Plex in Yo Gabba Gabba Live US National and Canadian Tour, to name a few.

Hiroko Todoroki
Hiroko is a graduate from California State University, Fullerton and has received her Bachelor of Arts degree in both Accounting and Marketing. Hiroko is a huge advocate for arts and arts education which is why she is excited to be a part of this great event. In 2004, she began her tax accounting career at Grant Thornton, LLP, which is a mid-tier public accounting firm. After working about four seasons at Grant Thornton, Hiroko also worked for a private property management company for a year as a tax accountant. Currently Hiroko is working as a senior tax accountant at a publically traded Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) company since 2007. Hiroko is presently working on getting her CPA license.

Travis Curry
Travis is a Creative Professional in Washington, DC who specializes in marketing and advertising for the Arts. His design work has been published in various Washington, DC publications and Web-based media outlets. In 2008, Travis stepped into the world of Wedding Photojournalism, shooting with world-ranked photography studio, Socialite Studios. As a headshot & portrait photographer, Travis has shot numerous dancers, actors, models and recording artists in New York City, DC, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Tampa. In the Winter of 2009, Travis worked as a Production Assistant for TKNY on Maxim's Super Bowl XLIII Party. Travis fuses his experiences and talents in the Visual and Performing Arts to produce artistic and unique marketing packages for his clients. Travis earned a BA in Advertising + Public Relations from the University of Tampa. He is currently on staff at Joy of Motion Dance Center in Washington, DC. www.traviscurry.com

Alyssa Kennedy-Jones
Alyssa is truly excited and honored to be on staff for Awkward Sunday. She has been teaching for 8 years and hopes that her love for dance will transfer to her students. She has taught students throughout Europe and Asia. Alyssa has taught at various studios, public and private high schools preparing for concerts, competitions, festivals and assisting with show creation and implementation. She is currently the Dance director and curriculum creator for a private high school in Orange County and helps with the program development material for USA (United Spirit Association). She currently judges for regional and national cheer/dance competitions nation wide.

Tamu Lane
Tamu is an accomplished lighting and stage technician. She's involved in creation and tear down of lighting, gridding and stage. Tamu attended Southwestern College where she earned a degree in Arts soon after went to San Diego State University (SDSU). While attending SDSU she was hired at Sea World. She is now a reliable technician for the Walt Disney resort in Anaheim. Tamu has been a technician on shows such as Animazement, Snow White, Fantasmic, Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular and many other special events. Tamu is excited to be the lead technical director for the Awkward Sunday event.
